Young Authors Program for Grades 3, 4 and 5

The Young Authors Program is an optional opportunity for students to express themselves through a writing piece of their choice. Students may write in any genre they choose- fiction (mystery, adventure, fantasy, etc), poetry, non-fiction, or graphic novel. Student writing pieces are completed at home by the student without help from a parent or guardian. Students may choose to write with a partner from the same grade level if they wish.

Student writing pieces should be submitted in the Young Authors Google Classroom no later than March 26 (alternatively, if it is best for your student to hand-write, a hard copy may be dropped off at the school, also by March 26).

If your child participated in Young Authors last year, we are handing these entries back with certificates and ribbons starting the week of 2/22. Students who come for in-person instruction will have their writing piece delivered to their classroom. Ms. Happy will email parents of remote students directions on how and when to pick up their writing pieces.

Please email Ms. Happy with any questions.
