December A+ Award: Ms. Gross, Watts Elementary

The Indian Prairie Educational Foundation (IPEF) and District 204 proudly honor Nicole Gross, a Special Education teacher at May Watts Elementary, with the December A+ Award. Watch the A+ Award video to see the team’s surprise visit to recognize Ms. Gross for “Making a Difference in District 204”.

Ms. Gross was nominated for the A+ Award by current May Watts parent Shadi Mohebi on behalf of her son. In her essay, Mrs. Mohebi describes the outstanding support that Ms. Gross has shown her son this year.

Mrs. Mohebi wrote that from the first day, Ms. Gross showed exceptional dedication, patience, and understanding with her students. She appreciated the way that she openly communicated with parents, keeping them informed and truly listening to their concerns. In her essay, Mrs. Mohebi said, “Her ability to connect with my son and create a supportive, structured learning environment has made a real difference in a very short time…I sincerely believe she deserves to be recognized for her outstanding work.”

Thank you to A+ Award sponsor Western Governors University who once again is partnering with IPEF and District 204 to help recognize one staff member each month for making a difference for students. To celebrate these outstanding staff members, Western Governors University is generously donating $1,000 for each month’s winner to use in his or her school. You can nominate a staff member by visiting A+ Award.
