Dismissal reminders and updates

As you might imagine, dismissal is one of the most complicated but also most important transitions of our school days at an elementary school.

Our number one priority is the safety of our students.

We have worked hard this week to correct any incorrect buses or transportation plans for students to ensure everyone is getting home safely. We thank you all for clear communication and feedback as we strengthen our systems so we can avoid any mis-steps in the future.

You may also notice dismissal starts earlier as we continue to adjust our procedures.

As we continue to ensure the safest dismissal for all students, please take a moment to read through a few requests and adjustments.

Walkers: Door 11

We love seeing our community come together at dismissal! It is wonderful to see adults chatting with one another and children playing together. If you plan to stay on school grounds for a bit after dismissal, please move to the hill, the field on the north side of the school, or around back to the playground.

This helps us quickly identify which students are still waiting to be picked up and which students have already been claimed

If you are heading north after meeting your child at Door 11, please do not use the sidewalk directly in front of the school. Instead, use the sidewalk along Whispering Hills Drive. The sidewalk in front of the school is used for bus loading, and additional foot traffic in this area can make dismissal crowded and confusing while buses are loading.

Car riders

If your student's dismissal plan is to be a car rider, they will always exit through the back of the building and report to the car rider line.

If you decide to walk and pick up your child on a particular day instead of driving, please walk to the blacktop and pick up your student from the back of the building.

Keeping students with their assigned dismissal location helps prevent confusion when plans change and ensures students know exactly where to go at dismissal.
